I've been doing this for a while and I know the tricks of the trade pretty well. Especially if you can't afford sex toys.
First off, whatever the technique, I always use clit stimulation. I prefer the use of an electric toothbrush.I always keep an extra toothbrush head around for my changeable one. The others are just ones you buy and stick batteries in.

I have tried various household items for insertion and I'll just review some of my faves:
