Artistic pose modeling is not my given profession, but I
ended up with an interesting assortment of clients. Some, but not all include
college classes, art school classes, senior center art classes, art and wine
drawing parties, book clubs, artists retreats and enclaves, private groups, individuals’
private requests. The art mediums have been everything from photography, videography,
paper, paint, sculpture, body painting, body casting, web cam extra, medical
model patient for local University, massage therapists in training, working
with therapists/patient interaction issues that involve an open-minded male,
therapy gender studies, and individuals that are simply body curious.
It is a very diverse group of clients which include couples
plus one, groups of females, mixed groups, individuals, mixed non binary
individuals, gay persons. I am not judgmental. I have pretty much seen
everything and happy to help individuals overcome biases and explore their
desires through art. Age groups vary
from just 18 to well into the senior years. I have been surprised that there
are many that say they just want someone to talk with. I
sometimes regard myself as a bartender therapist that serves up a naked body and tries to dispel any sort of shame associated being body positive through noticing,
trusting, valuing, and communicating.
One of my more unique clients is a body casting artist. She
does pregnant belly casts, breasts, vagina casting (made into coffee cups – ha-ha)
and penis casting. She hired me to assist her in her first forays into penis casting
a few years ago. She said she enjoyed working with me and was happy I could follow
instructions, had no disabling ego, and could communicate in a literate and
interesting manner. One year ago, she made a cast from my belly button to my
upper thighs, front and back. The finished sculpture is a very detailed
rendition. She said my body was very similar (but a little better endowed) to Michelangelo’s
David located in the Accademia Gallery in Florence, Italy. Like all artists,
she sells her work and has been amazed that this torso sculpture is very popular
piece of sellable art. The torso is so detailed you can see skin pores,
wrinkles, and skin folds.
The casting process involved rubbing a mold release on my
skin like Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. Shaving any hair that I did not want to
have ‘waxed’ off by the casting media. She did not want a erect penis albeit
she cited that that may be something to consider in the future. She liked that
I was circumcised and had a pronounced ‘mushroom’ head for sculptural interest.
After I was covered in mold release the molding media was brushed on and
allowed to dry. It is very fast drying like the stuff they cast teeth with at
dental clinics. After drying the casting is removed like a pair of short, very tight-fitting
pants.
This mold is modified so can she pour in inexpensive plaster
test for irregularities. The finished product is then cast in a more durable bronze
colored epoxy resin.
Some have asked me for some more stories from my modeling
and happy to convey them I hope you find this a bit arousing and interesting. This is not as lurid of a story as a few of my other ones.
